Welcome Wayne Douglas to The Pierce County Fair. It all started when he was 11 years old.
Wayne went to see a Hank Williams movie at the Oak Park Theater in Minot.
“It was called Your Cheatin’ Heart ... and I walked out and thought, ‘Man! That’s something I want to do.’ It just hit me,” he recalled.
At age 13, his aunt overheard him singing in the kitchen and encouraged him to pursue music and enter contests.
Wayne lived in the south and Nashville area for many years working and playing in the music industry. Wayne now plays the local music scene with Randy Karr's Band and Tapestry, and as a single for dance jobs and area entertainment venues. He has 2 recorded gospel albums containing original songs and covers such as Why Me Lord, Wings of a Dove, and I Saw the Light.

John Deere Pedal Tractor Pull
June 28 12:30 pm start registering.
1:00 pm start the different age groups
Start times will vary based on the number in each age group.
Pedal Tractor Pulling is fun to watch! Kids of all ages love it and it's great fun for the family. A huge thank you goes out to the volunteers from Gooseneck Implement and Dave Bednarz for hosting this popular fair event. Pedalers ages 5 through adult are invited to participate for prizes.
Come out and compete or cheer on your favorite pedaller as they show their pedal strength and driving skills!
This will take place at the south entrance to the fairgrounds. Everyone gets a prize and the top pullers in each division receive a trophy.
HOW DOES IT WORK? Each person sits on a pedal tractor and drags a weighted sled as far as they can go. As the sled is dragged it creates friction, making it harder to pull. So the farther you go, the harder it gets!
Thank you to Dave Bednarz for setting this up.

Frying Pan Contest
June 28 - 7:30 pm
Females from 18 to 103 have the opportunity to take a turn standing alone in front of the throwing field, far from their kitchens, feeling the iron heft of that bacon-cooking, egg-scrambling pan, and finding their unique art to hurl it with all their might into the blue June sky. This is nothing like slinging hash or flipping burgers!
These females will fling a 10-pound cast-iron frying pan across the field. Each contestant gets two chances, and winners in each division take home a ribbon and a chance to be "Frying Pan" Champion.

He remembered seeing racing pigs on the Johny Carson Show and he knew he had pigs so he thought why not do it for my project. And he did – but little did he know he would be doing it for decades. We are happy to have Daryl and his pigs back as they show their "speed" around the track.
